Vision of HarvestHabakkuk 2:1-3 “I will stand on my guard post and station myself on the rampart; And I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me, and how I may reply when I am reproved. Then the Lord answered me and said, “Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, that the one who reads it may run. For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal and it will not fail though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay.”
Vision needs to be written down, so it can be handed off.
If you don’t know where you are going, you are bound to get there. We must have vision. We must have vision statements so each one can know the target.
We connect through engaging the population regardless or race, age, male or female: Race - Ethnically diverse: There is only one race, the human race.
Age - Multigenerational: In a day and time when the expert is celebrated over the sage, we celebrate the sage! With age comes wisdom, and the scriptures are very clear about this. We honor those who have gone before us. It’s because of them, we are here.
Male & Female - We celebrate our differences and hold everyone in a valuable way. We believe there are only two genders, “male and female, He made them both in His image”.
Revelation 7:9 “After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes.”
The church should be an equipping station; teaching the Scriptures in a practical way and helping one another to apply God’s word to their lives.
Church - We equip through the Scripture, tradition, experience, and reason of the church. Life Groups - We equip through doing life together and studying the Scriptures in our homes.
Events - Holy Spirit Class, Freedom in Christ, grief ministries, men’s & women’s retreats are all ways we equip at Connexion.
Ephesians 4:11-13 "And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ."
As we are strengthened in our walk with our Lord, we become empowered to be His ambassadors to the world. When disciples are empowered, “the world becomes their parish”. We expect to see 10% of the population we serve to be connected to the church. We pray for the empowerment to plant churches throughout the Texas Panhandle, the nation, and the world.
Acts 1:8: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
